About WinedorLust

Mission, Vision, and Values

Nothing but a wine novice, eager to learn more about the wine industry all over the world, while sharing the knowledge I have acquired about regional wines to my fellow wine novice and wine enthusiasts (oenophiles) wanting to travel. Hoping to highlight the variation of wine valleys and varietals from the popular well-known to the small more localized ones. So, if you have a love of wine and travel like me, feel free to WinedorLust with me!

I, like many people, find the wine industry to be intimidating and too robust of a subject to grasp. There’s so many ins-and-outs and it is a hard industry to break into, especially if you’re middle class, a woman, and/or minority like me. The industry has the reputation of being exclusive, but I am here to break down walls and make it more inclusive. Follow me as I visit wine regions around the world, discovering more about the science and industry of wine and winemaking in hopes of someday becoming a wine connoisseur. Looking forward to sharing my journey with you, all the expertise I gain along the way, and inspire you to explore the vast world of wine for yourself!

WinedorLust is striving to be the go-to website for when wine meets travel!  A space where any wine-loving individual can be encouraged to try new wine varietals, wineries, wine regions, and all things travel!

Meet WinedorLust

Hi, I’m Kendria, a Black Southern California native, who grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, but left California for college and recently returned in 2020. I went to Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina and have subsequently lived in Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon. I grew up relatively lower middle class, with very little opportunity to travel, so it was always something I dreamed about doing someday. Luckily, post college I have been able to make my travel dreams come true, little by little.

I first discovered my love for wine the good old traditional American way, through cheap and sweet wines, like Moscato and Riseling, when I turned 21. Now, I call those wines a treat when I want to drink something sweet! I have since fallen in love with the art and science of winemaking and wine tasting. Developing the hobby of trying out new wine regions throughout the US and Canada, and hoping to branch out farther in the near future! Fortunately, I was not discouraged from living my dreams and it has not been too difficult to branch into wine traveling, being that I do not meet the usual demographic for this lifestyle and am not a wealthy individual either. For the most part I have been welcomed into this world and would like to welcome you all to the journey with me!
