Simply a wine novice, eager to learn more about the wine industry, as well as share knowledge I have acquired about regional wines to my fellow travel-loving-wine novices and wine enthusiasts (oenophiles with wanderlust). Hoping to highlight wine valleys and varietals, from the popular and well-known to the small and local. So, if you have a love of wine and travel, I invite you to WinedorLust with me!I, like many people, find the wine industry to be intimidating. There are so many ins-and-outs, and it is a difficult industry to break into, especially if you are middle class, a woman, and/or a minority like me. The industry has a reputation of being exclusive, but I am here to break down barriers and make it more inclusive. Follow me as I visit wine regions around the world and discover more about the science and industry of winemaking, in hopes of someday becoming a wine connoisseur. I look forward to sharing my journey with you and hopefully inspiring you to explore the vast world of wine for yourself!WinedorLust strives to be the go-to website for when wine meets travel! A space where any wine lover can be encouraged to try new wine varietals, wineries, wine regions, and all things travel!
Meet WinedorLust
Hi, I’m Kendria, a Black Southern California native, who grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, but left California for college and recently returned in 2020. I attended Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina and have subsequently lived in Austin, Texas and Portland, Oregon. I grew up relatively lower middle class, with very little opportunity to travel, so it was always something I dreamed about doing someday. Luckily, post college I have been able to make my travel dreams come true, little by little.I first discovered my love for wine the good old traditional American way, through cheap and sweet wines, like Moscato and Riesling, when I turned 21. Now, I call those wines a sweet treat! I have since fallen in love with the art and science of winemaking and wine tasting. I have developed the hobby of trying out new wine regions throughout the US and Canada, and hope to branch out farther in the near future! Fortunately, I was not discouraged from living my dreams, and it has not been too difficult to branch out into wine traveling, despite the fact that I am not the usual demographic for this lifestyle or a wealthy individual. For the most part, I have been welcomed into this world and would like to invite you all on this journey with me!
