This gem is right outside of Asheville, in the Blue Ridge mountains and foothills, where there are many outdoorsy activities to do. The mountain countryside is full of hills and windy roads, so you’ll definitely need a car to get around, not sure how robust the rideshare options are in the area.

Souther Williams Vineyard
The standout choice would have to be Souther Williams Vineyard! The ambiance is very relaxing, like farmhouse meets your backyard porch chic, on a grand estate. It’s a great place to grab a glass of wine or a flight with loved ones and sit outside on an Adirondack chair and enjoy the day. They have an exceptional variety of wines, suitable for any one’s preference of red or white, including two of my favorite varietals: roussanne and cabernet franc. The roussanne is delightfully refreshing and fruity and the cabernet franc is remarkably vibrant and smooth! They offer many tastings and tours. I didn’t get a chance to try any, but the hike and taste tour sounds wonderful for the wine loving outdoorsman, or someone looking for a unique way to try wines, or the just the calorie conscious wine lover. Most importantly the staff makes you feel like you are right at home, very welcoming, friendly, and informative!
